WHEREAS, election officials across the country have worked to make the voter registration, registration update and voting processes as easy as possible, and have committed themselves to educating voters about the election process, and ensuring that all voters may participate fully in the democratic process,

WHEREAS, all Americans should have the ability to vote independently and privately, regardless of disability or need of special previsions, and because local election practices and policies support that ideal,

WHEREAS, organizations around the country have united to create awareness of voter registration opportunities and aim to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise,

WHEREAS, the EAC is charged with providing leadership in voting system accessibility, outreach programs, training of election officials, poll workers, and volunteers on how best to administer federal elections,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on National Voter Registration Day, the EAC celebrates and commends election officials around the country in their efforts to ensure every eligible American has the opportunity to register to vote and thereby express their voice through the ballot box.
